Meatballs and Cabbage

Ingredients
- 1 pound of Ground Chuck
- 1 egg
- 1/2 head of Cabbage
- 2 cans of Tomato soup
- 2 (or more) tablespoons chopped of Onion
- 2/3 cup of Minute rice
- 2 cups of Water
- 1 teaspoon of Salt
- dash Pepper
- Rye bread or soda crackers for serving
Steps
- Season the meat.
- Add onion, rice, and egg to the meat.
- Mix the meat, onion, rice and egg together.
- Roll the meat mixture into balls about 4 cm in diameter.
- Cut the cabbage into 4 or 5 sections.
- Place the cabbage in a pot with meatballs between the sections.
- Pour tomato soup and water over the cabbage and meatballs.
- Cover and simmer on low for about an hour. Check occasionally to make sure it is not sticking to the pot.
- Serve with soda crackers or rye bread.
