Ingredients

  • 5 slices of bacon
  • 100 gr of Pecarino (Romano) cheese
    • Fresh shredded is best
  • 25 gr of Parmesean cheese
    • Fresh shredded or shaved is best
  • 28 oz of Crushed tomatoes
  • 1 package of Bucatini pasta
  • black pepper
    • to taste
  • red pepper
    • to taste

Steps

  1. Cook bacon until crispy. Set aside on a plate to dry. Keep 2-3 tablespoons of the bacon grease for the sauce.
  2. Cook bucatini pasta according to the instructions on the package.
  3. While bucatini is cooking, add crushed tomatoes, black pepper, and red pepper to bacon grease and simmer.
  4. About two minutes before pasta is finished, add pecarino and parmesean cheese to the sauce and turn off heat. Stir so everything is evenly mixed.
  5. Once pasta is done, strain it and add it to the sauce.
  6. Mix the pasta with the sauce.
  7. Serve and enjoy :)
